Dear Bill, Mary Helen, Becky & Kelly,
We are so sadden to hear of Toni’s passing away. What a fun and vivacious person.
We remember all the fun times when both of us lived in Webster Forest. Toni was such a help especially with Emily. The soccer and basketball games were our gathering spot. Visitation was such a positive move for Emily – thank you.
I remember also Toni’s story of President Truman and Bess stopping at her father’s ice cream store.
Toni will be missed. Know you are in our daily thoughts and prayers.
    Love,

Too little space here and faulty memories to recount all the ways in which Toni (along with Bill, Mary Helen, Becky & Kelly) impacted the Steinbecker lives over many decades. A dear friend, neighbor, confidant, source of joy — just a few of Toni’s roles that intersected with us.

I am sure this beautiful person, inside and out, has already been welcomed by the Blessed Mother and the Holy Trinity to a spiritual place, without the pain she endured on this launching pad called earth!

To all the Walkers, I’m so sorry. Mrs. W was always so lovely and hospitable to me and called me Flips, which I always loved. And I remember she made the BEST burgers. Love to you all. Wish I could give you all real hugs but virtual will have to do for now.

    Much love,

    Dear Bill Walker Family,
We were deeply saddened to hear of Aunt Toni’s passing. I was already looking forward to my Aunt Toni time and visiting with her at the reunion next summer. She always lit up the room when she came in and it was so fun to watch as she danced her way into the hearts of everyone she knew. She so loved her extended family and seemed to have the best of times at all of the wonderful get together’s we have had over the years. It was so much fun growing up with her and I’ll always cherish out special talks and advise. She was a wonderful aunt and I can hear her infectious laugh and her voice calling me over for a sit-down Toni chat. My sincerest condolences – she will be greatly missed. God Bless Aunt Toni

Mary Helen, So sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. Some people’s moms are so easy to remember, even after 30+ years of not seeing her, and your mom is one of those. I remember getting ready at your house for high school dances and she would be so welcoming and joyful. She was one of those moms that seemed so happy and encouraging. Prayers for your family.

    Bill and the girls,
During our lives we often come in contact with people who leave an impression on us…one that seems to stay forever. Such was the case with Toni. Just a fun gal to be around…. always with that twinkle in her eye…probably looking to cause some trouble! Made us laugh…often!
Sorry we didn’t get to see more of you all after you moved out of the Hood.
Bill, please accept our most sincere condolences. Know that we are thinking of all of you and praying for you during this most difficult time. Please remember us to the girls also. They were special too!

One of the many things we loved about Toni was her sense of humor. We are going to sadly miss her humorous and entertaining emails. She had a quick wit and liked to lovingly poke fun. Her upbeat manner no matter what issues she had to deal with is an inspiration to all of us as we go through the ups and downs of our daily lives. She loved Bill and her family and to them please know that we share in your loss and will continue to pray for all of you.

Dear Uncle Bill, Mary Helen, Becky, and Kelly,

We are heartbroken and so very sorry for your loss. These past few days I’ve been seeing images of Aunt Toni at our family gatherings… her beautiful smile, bubbling laugh, and joyous spirit. She had the most wonderful playful nature about her, and always brought an element of fun to our events. I loved her mischievous side. Oh how we loved to hear stories of the Toben sisters and Walker brothers growing up in Hanibal, MO! She taught me many things about being a great Aunt. She made everyone feel special. She cherished her family over all else. It’s impossible to put into words the hole that is created with her passing. I know she is in heaven now with her beloved sister, mother, father and all the family. I hope they are playing Pitch and Uncle George is hollering over the cards.

I’m sad we cannot be with you during this time. Covid has taken much from us. Thank you for always being there for us, steady and strong during all the ups and downs in life. Please know we are praying for peace and strength for you all. I am so thankful to be named for my wonderful Aunt Toni! May God Bless you and keep you safe. God Bless Aunt Toni.
