Dad I miss you so much already! I will miss your beautiful music for the rest of my life!
I love you dad! I really miss you! I will have your humor and your beautiful music in my heart forever.
Dear Chalene…It was a rough and bumpy ride to say the least…But you finally made it to where worldly bonds are shed and a new beginning starts…I think once the big man hears a couple of your tunes he’ll have no more need for the harp player…Rest and play well!….Leo
We miss the jokes in the choir loft. The Friday nights singing at Mama Campisi’s piano bar.
The laugh that resounded when Charlie told one of his “stories”. His always calling me Louise.
Our minds will always be full of the beautiful music and ending each Italian Mass with the “Laudamus Te”.
Please know that his legacy will live on with every student who participated in the Young Artists’ Competition that was so dear to his heart.
We always loved him and miss him!

Me and papa going to Mama Toscano’s to get a snickers was alot of fun. I LOVE YOU.
From the day Doc George introduced me to you at Slay’s in 1975, we bonded as pals. It was the music you played that was entertaining to many, but your friendship will endure for eternity. You were the one responsible for me meeting your daughters. We shared many good times together from catching frogs(you can only imagine this but I saw it with my own eyes)to playing cards with Les Garanzini and Molly Kemp at the lakehouse. Remember how she always won? The meals we shared-Risotto, Polenta and BBQ that you enjoyed. The parishioners of St. Ambrose will greatly miss the beauty you generated from the choir loft expressing the love of God in your music. I, like many, will miss the joy you brought, whether in words of encouragement or just in making people laugh. Many people thought of you as an entertainer. I thought of you as an artist. You made ordinary music beautiful. You will be missed.
My sincere condolences to the family.

Dear Pat and Family,
Was so sorry to read about Charles. I treasure the friendship I had with him and all of you. I remember the times I was at your home and of course when I taught Maria and Michelle at Bishop DuBourg HS. I wish I could be there next Saturday but I wanted to extend my condolences to all of you in your loss. Your husband, father was a wonderful person, may his soul rest in peace and may you be comforted by your loving thoughts of Charles. All my best, Andrew “Andy” Kopnicky
Dear Charles- I love you, and I know your in heaven with God and your family, and as you always said, doing the work of the Lord. Thankyou for three wonderful daughters, their our pot of gold. I miss you so much, but I know your happy know. Love and prayers, Patricia
Charlie, I am sorry that I didn’t get to know you better. I hope those few times we did get to talk were even a fraction as enjoyable for you as they were for me. You have a wonderful family and I have been blessed knowing all of you. Rest well.
Charlie,
You fought the good fight employing your usual style and grace. I was honored to be there for you with the family and was touched that you always greeted me with, “Hi David, buddy.” I am sorry that I didn’t know you in the days when you played music around town. I feel as though I were there because I have heard your daughters tell many tales of those nights. They were fiercely proud of your musical ability and learned to appreciate a wide variety of musical styles due to you.
In heaven, I suggest that you lead with the “chicken sedan” joke. That will always be my favorite! You should follow that with the story about Rachel wanting to know if you were in “food service” after viewing your formal Army portrait.
Charlie,
You will be so fondly remembered by all. You leave behind a lifetime of accomplishments and memories to be cherished by so many. Your dedication to your family, your passion for your music, and your quick wit, will be profoundly missed. The world will be a lesser place without you.
Rest in peace
To the Garavaglia family,
I am so fortunate to have met Charlie. I was one of the nurse to take care of him on 7900, and he was always a joy for me! I absolutely loved sitting at his bedside and listening to his stories and ridiculous jokes! He spent a lot of time with us, and I know that was hard for your family, but he always made my days at work so enjoyable. I wish I could’ve met him in other circumstances, but so grateful that I ever met him at all. I will never forget him. God bless you, and you are in my prayers. Meghan
We are sorry for you loss. You all have been in our prayers. I hope you can find comfort in having his memory live on with you.
I love you soo much. I will always remember all of the funny jokes you use told me. Also how we alsways went to go get snickers. I will miss you so much, but u will always be with me!
Dear Pat, I just realized Charlie was gone. It’s been so long. Charlie and you brought love and nurturing into my life. God bless you all
