Stanley Richard Atherton, Jr.

Stanley Richard Atherton Jr., was born April 22, 1982 in St Louis Missouri. The first child of Richard and Cindy Reed Atherton. He was taken from us by an act of needless violence on November 30, 2022. He was 40 years old. Junior was an avid fan of St. Louis sports teams, he had received numerous medals in high school for sporting competitions. In addition to sports, he was fascinated by the weather patterns, eagerly awaiting each snow in hopes of seeing a snowfall to match the one that hit St Louis a few months before his birth. He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents Richard and Cindy Atherton, brothers Thomas and Eric Atherton, Sister Janet (Ernesto) a host of Uncles, Aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, George and Avis Atherton, John and Gloria Jean Reed and a brother Richard William Atherton.

    We miss you Junior! You’re with Jesus now!!

    Psalm 23
    The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
    He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
    He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul.
    He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
    Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
    I will fear no evil; For You are with me;
    Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
    You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
    You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
    Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life;
    And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.

    I didn’t know Stanley at all. I only came across his story after researching his name after finding out that the Animal who took his life and did his senseless killing was caught yesterday after a short police chase through South St. Louis. What a shame to take Stanley out of this world. He seemed to love it so much and travel everywhere what a loss. I hope Stanley and his family get the Justice they deserve. Sorry for your loss.
