James Milton Johnson
James Milton Johnson, of St. Peters, MO, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the age of 86. Loving husband of Margie Nabholz Johnson; son of the late Harry and Abby Lucille Johnson; father of Anita Johnson of Florissant, MO, Janet (Steven) Ouellette of O’Fallon, MO, Sandy Johnson of St. Charles, MO, Tim (Maureen) Johnson of St. Charles, MO, Diana (Matthew) Coppenbarger of Rochester, NY, Pam (Jonathan) Griggers of Lake Charles, LA, and Carol Schroeder of Overland Park, KS; grandfather of Nick, Ashley, Dana (Dustin), Tyler C., Eric, Tyler G., Ryan, Anna, Elizabeth, Alicia, Jenny, Robert, and Cathy; survived by sisters Janet (Al) Philion and Celia Johnson, and brother Ken (Karen) Johnson; preceded in death by siblings Margaret Fahle, Roger Johnson and Ruth Agee.
Jim was born August 5, 1936, in Delta, OH to Harry and Abby Lucille Johnson. In 1954, Jim joined the Navy and served for 3 years. He then attended Bowling Green State University and Christian Brothers College and received a degree in Electrical Engineering. While in Memphis, he met the love of his life, Margie Nabholz, who he married on June 2, 1962. He had a 30+ year career as an electrical engineer before retiring from McDonnell Douglas. He spent his retirement years woodworking, golfing and fishing and spending time with his family. He was a long time member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in St. Charles, MO. He was an avid Cardinals and Blues fan, as well as a devoted viewer of “Jeopardy”. He was a loving family member who always had an incredible sense of humor, even near the end. He will be greatly missed.
Jim donated his body to St. Louis University Medical School and a memorial mass will be held at a later date.
