Carl Whitesell
Carl Whitesell, 88, of Town and Country, Missouri, died Sunday, October 22, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield. Born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Thelma (Portzer) and Clarence Whitesell. He was preceded in death by his son, Frank Harnos, and brother, Donald Whitesell.
Carl was an Inventory Control Manager at Durkee Foods in Bethlehem until his retirement. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Bethlehem, serving as a member of Church Council and leader of the Evangelism Committee for many years. Carl was also a member of the Evangelism Committee of Green Pond United Methodist Church, Easton. He helped organize concerts for them and co-lead Bible and book studies. He continued to participate in GPUMC Bible studies after moving to Missouri in 2020. Carl was also a member of the GPUMC Train Club. He volunteered many years at Safe Harbor in Easton along with volunteering at Easton Community Days.
Carl will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Nancy (Jurbala) Whitesell, daughter and son-in-law Nancy (Harnos) and Brian Armstrong, two granddaughters, Megan & Lindsay, and several nieces and nephews.
