Carolyn Huynh
It is with great sadness that the family of Cong (Carolyn) Kim Huynh announces her passing on September 30, 2024, at the age of 88.
She was born in Saigon, Vietnam on February 3, 1936 to now deceased parents, Nguyen Thi Nhung and Huynh Thieu Tu. While living in Vietnam, she met and married her beloved husband An (Andy) Huynh on March 6, 1957. They had three children, Sarah Dobberstein (Paul), Steven Huynh and James Huynh (Dawn). In 1975, Carolyn and Andy fled Vietnam with their family, finally settling in Blue Earth, MN. Together they were long term owners and operators of Andy’s Oriental Cafe. She continued residing in Blue Earth until the passing of her beloved husband in 2020 when she moved to St. Louis, MO to live with her daughter.
She leaves her family behind including her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren – Sean Dobberstein (Brooke) with their children Elliana, Noah and Brayden; Tiffany Huynh; Anthony Huynh (Rachel); Pam Fisher (John) with their children Eleanor and Alyssa; Zachary Huynh; and Pauline Huynh.
She is survived also by her brother Danh Huynh (Quynh) and sisters-in-law Ngoc (Mike) Sorenson, Nga (Mike) Augustine, Katherine Huynh, and Andrea Huynh (Thomas Dinh).
In lieu of flowers, please make online gifts in memory of Carolyn to the Dementia Society of America.
