Irene Hebisen

Irene Hebisen, age 98, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024. Born on February 27, 1926, Irene lived a life full of love, faith, and family. In 1943, she married the love of her life, James (Jim) Hebisen, and they shared 68 wonderful years together until his passing in 2011.

Irene was a woman of deep faith and unwavering devotion to her family. Her belief in God shaped every part of her life, and her love and care for others reflected that. Irene’s faith and family were her greatest sources of strength and joy, and she dedicated herself fully to both.

“For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.” — 2 Timothy 4:6-8 (ESV)

Irene was the cherished mother of six children: the late Michael Hebisen, Steve Hebisen (married to Becky Hebisen), Tom Hebisen (married to Darla Hebisen), Judy Fleig, Sandy Schneider (married to Tom Schneider), and John Hebisen. She was also a beloved grandmother to 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love and devotion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

The family invites those who knew and loved Irene to a funeral service on October 19th at 11:30 at First Baptist Church of St. Charles. A lunch for close family and friends will follow at 1:00 at the Professional Fireman’s Hall, 115 McMenamy Road, St. Peters, MO 63376.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church of St Charles in Irene’s memory.

Knowing Irene was life changing for me! I experienced the love of Christ from her in many ways by her giving heart – time, talent, treasure from her has always been special, now more than ever.

Heaven is precious, but now mare than ever. Irene, save me a seat by you!

Words fail to express everything Irene gave to me. Her faith was a dynamic that I could see and experience. She was so generous that she also shared her family with a girl who had never seen the kind of love that was “Hebisen”. I’m so blessed to have known her. She was the best boss I ever had. “Mom Rene”

My beautiful cousin, the last cousin in her generation, fountain of information about the family and deeply in love with them all. She loved her church, her Bible class, and her pastors. I am grateful to God that in the last two summers, my son and my daughter were able to come with me to meet a cousin they had never met. They were inspired by her presence. I thank God for her and will pray for the wonderful family she leaves behind and which she loved so dearly.
