William (Bill) Edward Perkins
William (Bill) Edward Perkins was born to William and Lucille Perkins on March 4, 1938 in Saint Louis, Missouri. As a born again believer, Bill confidently entered Heaven on January 5, 2025. Bill was happily married to Donna Jean Perkins (Derryberry) for 65 years. Three children were born from this union: Darren Edward Perkins, Stephen Scott Perkins (Sara), and Kimberly Sue Latta (Dave). He was the proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Bernice, and his son Steve.
Bill worked as an aircraft fueler for Allied Aviation for 40 years. Bill’s greatest work began after he placed his faith in Jesus Christ in 1970. He was active in the Mission Gate prison ministry for many years. When he wasn’t spending time with his family, he was actively sharing the gospel to anyone he would meet. He also enjoyed working outdoors, and not just at his home. He was often found working outside at the homes of his dearly loved neighbors, as well as at his church. He had a servant’s heart and loved people. He will be dearly missed by all.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Community Chapel at 7661 Mexico Road, Saint Peters, MO 63376.
Bill loved the Lord Jesus Christ! He wanted everyone he met to know Jesus. He will be missed by many.
Loved every word all so true. He is missed as our neighbor and he is in our prayers. He helped all neighbors and will definitely be missed.
Bill Perkins… Where do I begin? Ron and I met Bill And Donna at first Baptist Ferguson shortly after we were saved. They have walked hand-in-hand with us for over 50 years as spiritual mentors. Bill has always been a rock for both of us. Bill would say make sure you have faith in the right rock. He is greatly missed.
Sweet Perkins Family–What a legacy has been left because of the life that he lived! Great will be his reward in heaven as it is to those who knew him on earth. Several have been led to the Lord because of his testimony including your family for generations.
He will be missed but JOY comes as a result of the HOPE we share through Jesus Christ.
Bill and Donna Perkins have been a living example of what it means to follow Christ. I was told they prayed for my salvation before I was born. Bill was a one subject man…Jesus Christ. And for all who are alive today, just think about it; 1000 years from now, that’s the only subject that will matter to you. What did you do with Jesus? Bill is one of the few men that actually understood that on earth and did not waste time on the petty subjects of our day. You may not have liked his message, but he loved you enough to proclaim it to you.
In a world where most church men retire from work and retire from God at the same time; thank you Bill Perkins for showing a younger Christian what it looks like to actually finish the race. You ran through the finish line…
2 Tim 4:7-8 – “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.”
2 Timothy 4:7-8 Thank you Bill for always fighting the good fight. You pressed on no matter what and Rick and I love you and your sweet family and will be with you one day soon, Bill. He was one of Rick’s dearest and most faithful friends and we will see him in glory. My husband and I knew Bill and Donna for 40 years and they loved us and those we served together at Mission Gate. Bill always made sure our guys were warm in the cold of the winter and cool in the heat of the summer. He made sure our cars would be sound to get the men at Mission Gate where they needed to go. He was. Man of faith like no other. You will be so missed.
