Anne Hennig

Anne Hennig died peacefully in her sleep on January 28th, 2025, at the age of 72.  

Anne was born in Chicago, IL, and moved to New Hampshire in the early 1970’s, went to the University of Vermont (BS), University of New York, Syracuse (Masters) and University of  Chicago (PhD). She did post-doctoral fellowships at the University of Virginia and Boston University and then worked as a research associate at Washington University St. Louis  until 2019. In retirement, Anne was active in many groups at Trinity Episcopal Church in St. Louis and worked part time at the City Sewing room teaching quilting techniques and computer-guided quilting. She was also active with several  choirs, and the St. Louis Recorder Society.  

Anne is survived by her husband Frank Schottler, brother  Steve Hennig and sister Helen (Hennig) Hayes, as well as  cousins Cathy Kelley, Linda McDade, Patricia Krcmar and their families. She will be mourned and remembered by numerous friends at Trinity Episcopal Church, the City Sewing  Room, Thimble and Thread Quilt Guild, and several other  groups (e.g.- music) and organizations she worked with.  

A memorial service will be held on February 22, 2025 at 2:00pm at Trinity Episcopal Church located at 600 N. Euclid  Ave., St. Louis, MO, 63108. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Anne’s life.
