Carrie Sanfilippo Hoffhaus

Carrie Lynn Hoffhaus (nee Sanfilippo) was called home to the Lord on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the age of 54. She passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family and friends. Carrie was survived by her loving husband Scott Hoffhaus of Jasper, Indiana. Carrie and Scott were happily married for over seven years and had recently built their dream home in the St. Louis area.

Carrie was a beloved sister to Lori Sansoucie, Joe Sanfilippo and the late Christine Wells. The greatest joys in her life were her nieces and nephews.  She was always the favorite aunt and indulgent of every whim or request.  Carrie was a beloved aunt to Adam, Jacob, Seth and Caleb Wells, Tyler Sanfilippo, Hannah Borden, Ashley Sanfilippo, Andrew Sansoucie and Magdalene Steinke.  In recent years the arrival of seven great nieces and nephews brought her even more joy.

Carrie was a lifelong resident of St Louis and graduated from Lutheran South in 1988. She had numerous lifelong friends including her best friend from first grade, Jan Kraemer. Friends and family know the love, compassion and empathy Carrie exhibited throughout her life. She was a peacemaker, a connector and a problem solver whether she was asked to be or not. She was generous with her time for anyone and loved to share laughter with all she met. Carrie had only love in her heart and limitless capacity to love. She will be deeply missed, but her memory is carried on by her family, friends and everyone she met.

A memorial service and funeral will be held on Friday, March 28, at Christ Lutheran Church (#1 Selma Ave, Webster Groves, MO 63119). Visitation will begin at 10:00AM with the funeral following at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carrie’s memory are encouraged to Stray Rescue of St Louis (www.strayrescue.org).
