My deepest sympathies to your family. I can only repeat what many have said – he touched so many lives; he’s given so many people the strength to go forward. The compassion and insight he showed to all will definitely be cherished. He knew he would never be able to save the world, but he was willing to try it one person at a time. RIP, Gerre. We will miss you, but know you always get the last word, so I know you are watching down on us and will continue to guide us.

It’s difficult for me to put into words how much Gerre did for me, my wife and family the last 27 years.
He took to my first AA meeting in April 1987 and has been my counselor, mentor and soul brother since. I will miss him, but know his influence on my life will last until it’s my time to leave this life, and I’m comforted knowing he will be waiting to greet me when I pass. Our family’s condolences to Julie and his family for their loss. Gerre will be missed by all those whom he helped in his time with us..

Gerre was a great mentor to me during my internship at Johnson Michler. He was honest, and he helped me learn the business side of things. Gerre and I worked hard together to reach the youth of St. Louis in their struggle with diabetes. He always talked about his kids and tried to pressure people into getting a massage from Amy. He was so proud of his kids. He was a good man and I am very sorry to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

The twinkle that was always to be found in his eyes never failed to bring a smile back to him. I send my sincere condolences to his family. My prayers are with you all. Cheryl
