Inez Whittle

Inez Crawford Whittle RICHMOND HILL, GA – Inez Crawford Whittle died on February 28, 2012. Mrs. Whittle was born in St. Stephen, SC, on April 20, 1917. She moved to Charleston, SC where she spent most of her life. She was a teacher for 25 years and was a faithful and active member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Charleston and attended the Richmond Hill United Methodist Church while she lived in Richmond Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Eidson Whittle, Sr. and her son, John Eidson Whittle, Jr. Mrs. Whittle moved to Richmond Hill in 2005 to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Gretchen and Angus McLeod. Other survivors include a daughter, Gail Whittle of Atlanta, a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Gayle King of Phoenix, AZ and a daughter-in-law, Terry Kanapaux. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Gretchen Mulling (Michael), John McLeod (Laci), Dana Whittle, John Whittle, Michelle Kowalski (Marc), Oliver King (Colleen) and Justin King (Carly); and 7 great-grandchildren. Graveside Service: 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 1, 2012, Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Charleston, SC. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416 or Bethel United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 57 Pitt Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
