Robert L. Hunt Sr., 76, of Festus, formerly of Lemay, died April 9, 2016, at Scenic Nursing and Rehab in Herculaneum. Mr. Hunt retired from the asphalt business at the age of 70 and had recently received his 40-year coin from Alcoholics Anonymous. He was born Oct. 24, 1939, in St. Louis, the son of the late Sherman and Anna (Jacobs) Hunt.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Patricia (Altnether) Hunt; six children: Robert (Rose) Hunt Jr. of Affton, Michael (Dawn) Hunt of Arnold, Cathy (Glen) Hanson of Arnold, John (Cheri) Hunt of Trenton, Ill., Jacqueline Hunt of Festus and Debbie (Tom) Williams of Festus; 12 grandchildren: Amanda Woods, Corey Hunt, Stephanie Hunt, Mackenzie Hunt, Britney Hanson, Gregory Hanson, Kristen (Josh) Sapaw, Dylan Hunt, Mei-Lei Hunt, Devin Harris, Logan Williams and Jaden Williams; one great-grandchild: Michael Woods; and two sisters: Janet Niere of Barnhart and Theresa Walter of Illinois. He was preceded in death by a sister: June Johnson; and a brother: Sherman Hunt.

Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, April 22, at Our Lady Church, 1550 St. Mary’s Lane, in Festus, officiated by Father Jeffrey Maassen. Memorials may be made to Our Lady Church.
