Mary Jane Marler

Mary Jane Marler, beloved daughter of Scott and Jane Marler (nee Darnell), passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Monday, January 9, 2017.

Mary Jane was deeply loved by her parents; her grandparents John Marler, Diann Marler (nee Follmer), and Bob and Colleen Darnell (nee Condon); her godparents and uncle and aunt Ian and Patrice Darnell; her uncles and aunts Arianne, Clayton, and Fiona Darnell and Kyle and Sarah Marler (nee Becker); her large extended family; and her many friends.

Mary Jane was born on May 6, 2016. On each day of her life, Mary Jane brought joy to those around her. She taught her family that even on the worst days, life should be celebrated.

A funeral Mass will be held for Mary Jane at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church (4900 Ringer Road, St. Louis, Mo.) at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 13. After Mass, there will be a celebration of Mary Jane’s life at the St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Parish Hall.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night, take these broken wings and learn to fly all your life. You were only waiting for this moment to arise.

Blackbird fly into the light of the dark black night.

A beautiful baby for a beautiful family. We are sorry for your loss. The love you gave her in her short life was more than what many people would get if they lived to be 100. May she rest in peace until you meet again.

I am so sorry to read about the loss of your precious Mary Jane. It is always difficult to lose a loved one, but it is especially tragic to lose them so early in life. Please take comfort in knowing that death is only a temporary part of life. (John 5:28,29) Although your time with your sweet Mary Jane was cut short, you can have the hope of being reunited with her forever, under perfect circumstances. (Revelation 21:4) In the meantime, even though the pain may at times seem insurmountable, rest assured that God will give you the strength necessary to endure. (Psalm 94:17-19) For more on this topic, type the following URLs into your browser to read or listen to the Bible’s answer to the question “Can the Dead Really Live Again?”: tinyurl.com/mezwv23 and tinyurl.com/jyp4yl4.
