Glenda Kaye James
Glenda Kaye James, of St. Louis, MO, daughter of the late Bill and Lillian Biggs, passed away on April 25, 2017 at St. Mary’s hospital. She was one of nine children born to this union.
Glenda was born in Manila, Arkansas on January 27, 1946. She graduated from Hornersville High School in 1964.
Glenda worked hard as a homemaker for her family all her life. She made sure her family never wanted for anything. Glenda was full of energy, very outspoken and there was never any mistaking that she was the matriarch of her family. Every Saturday, all the girls had to be up with a list of chores to complete, and her house had to be so clean you could eat off her floors. She always told her daughters, “If you have a roof over your head, there is always something to be clean.” One of her favorite Sunday dishes was pot roast with carrots and potatoes and you could usually find her favorite dessert strawberry cake, not far away. And if you didn’t find Glenda at home with her children, you could find her trying her luck at one of the local casinos – at the slot machines.
We will truly miss our Mom, but we would be remiss if we fail to thank our dear sister Cynthia for putting her life on hold to take care of our Mom. Her giving spirit and kindness was truly appreciated by everyone in the family. We can never thank her enough for this unselfish act of love.
Glenda is survived by her son, Donald (Susan) May, daughters Rhonda James, Tina McCutchen, Tracy (Eddie) Jackson, Stephanie (Corey) White-Tompkins and Cynthia White, ten grandkids, six great grandkids and a host of other family and friends.
The family of Glenda James wishes to thank everyone for the many phone calls, visits, cards and acts of kindness shown to us during this most difficult time.
A memorial Celebration will he held for her on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 1-4:00 pm at the Chapel of St. Louis Cremation.
