Anna Hofmann
Anna L. Hofmann, 71, of St. Louis, MO born February 18, 1938 in Iron Mountain, MO died on Saturday, July 25 at the Community Care of Lemay.
Ann was a loving stay at home mom for 18 years. She loved children and was a foster parent for several years. Then she owned and operated the Sign of the Turtle, an arts and crafts store where she enjoyed teaching classes in quilting and macrame. Ann also owned and helped manage the Annalou Apartment building.
She loved her family and loved to cook for them. Ann made everyone feel special with her homemade cooking during Thanksgiving, Christmas, open houses and your birthday. She started cooking cookies the day after Thanksgiving and would make two batches of cookies every night until Christmas. Then we would all package up the cookies and they would be sent to family and friends all over the United States. During her life, she was very active in her church. Her kind heart and loving spirit will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her father, Audolf Miller; her mother, Lena Smith (Miller); her brother, Alfred Miller; her brother, Donald Miller; her sister, Shirley Sorg; and her sister, Sharon Miller.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, William H. Hofmann and three children; Donna (David) Kellogg, Daniel Hofmann, David (Paula) Hofmann; five grandchildren, Robert (Gabby) Kellogg, Caroline (Clint) Jacks, Elizabeth Kellogg, Rachel Hofmann, Megan Hofmann; and two great-grandchildren, Bradon Kellogg and Kyle Kellogg.
My Grandma was more than a wonderful person. She will be with me everday, always. She taught so many people so many things and made everyone feel so special and so loved! She will be missed very much!
She loved her family more than anything and she was always happy! I can remember going with Carly on Monday nights to her Grandma Hofmann’s for dinner, and you can’t forget all of the craft fairs! She was very talented and passed it on to others through what she made. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family through this tough time.
She was my mother-law, she was my friend. She loved to dance, laugh, and share her life and wisdom. There are no words I can find that will describe this loss. Her memory is with us always.
I will do my best to keep her alive within me…always. God be with you Ann, your son in law loves you very much.
First, I just found out about my Aunt Ann’s passing. I’m sincerely sorry I didn’t keep in touch. My aunt was the most awesome person, she touched my heart through out my childhood.
My heart goes out to her family!
