born September 20, 1946, returned to our Lord on Friday, June 6, 2008. Max is survived by his wife and best friend of 40 years, Maureen (Kelley) Peterson; loving father of Christopher (Annette), Stephen (Renae), Daniel, and Jonathan. Grandfather (Papa Pete) of Rachel, Sarah, Anna, Aidan, Sam, and Maxwell. Loving brother of Josh and Jeff Peterson, brother in law, uncle, son in law, cousin, nephew, and friend.
After graduating with a Business degree from UMSL, Max served our country in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam. He enjoyed helping people especially in hardware and home projects through Lou Max Hardware and Edele and Mertz. Max was passionate about his faith, his family, and his community. He was blessed by the countless support of many, in sickness and in health, during his lifetime. The family extends heartfelt thanks to all of those who lifted Max up during the last difficult months and made the days easier.
Max has donated his body to St. Louis University
