Joann Pope Johnson of Des Peres, Missouri passed away Saturday 07 April 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a battle with cancer and pneumonia. She was born 09 February 1944 in St. Louis.

Joann is survived by her husband Dennis, daughter Karen, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Melissa, grandchildren Henry and Caroline, sister Marybeth Tiemeyer, brother Edward Pope, brother and sister-in-law Michael and Carolyn Pope, nieces Erin Klippi and Michelle Pope, nieces Elizabeth Richardson and Patricia Tiemeyer, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law James and Gwen Johnson. Joann was also the beloved great aunt, cousin, and dear friend of many others.

Joann attended Catholic schools in St. Louis County and majored in mathematics at Webster College. After a career with major computer companies, she started a successful computer systems company serving small and medium sized businesses in the Midwest. Following her retirement, Joann devoted much of her efforts to Ursuline Academy where she had attended high school. She also spent much of her time with family, especially as a helpful and loved grandmother and great aunt.

A memorial service for Joann’s family and close friends will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday 14 April 2012 at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church in Kirkwood, Missouri. Instead of flowers, donations in Joann’s name may be sent to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
