John Mullikin
John currently lived in St Louis, Missouri, and died at home on Sunday, May 23, 2010, after a brave fight with cancer.
Born July 16, 1957, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Cliff and Fay Mullikin. John completed high school in Denmark, Tennessee and had attended Memphis State College. He worked most recently at several St Louis locations for Marshalls as a customer service manager and jewelry department manager. For many years he co-owned a large antique business in Osceola, Arkansas, and spent much of his time travelling between Chicago, St Louis, Memphis, and New Orleans leaving that business in 1996.
John loved his home and spending time with his pets(kids) Sophie, Rocket, Boo-Boo, Smudge and Dazei. He was an avid gardener and was very skilled in making many types of jewelry.
He is survived by his loving partner of many years Robert Clark of St Louis, Missouri, his Mother Fay Mullikin of Mercer, Tennessee, brother James and his wife Michelle of Bradford, Tennessee, niece Melody and husband Brent of Jackson, Tennessee, nephew Coy and wife Andrea of Milan, Tennessee, and five great-nieces and nephews. Also two uncles, John of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Raymond of Memphis, Tenessee, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his Father Clifford Mullikin of Mercer Tn. in 2008.
Memorials may be made to your favorite charity or the American Cancer Society.
At John’s request, no services are planned at this time. His simple wish was for everyone to remember him every now and then with a smile for all the good times that were shared. His wonderfully clever sense of humor and genuine caring attitude will be sadly missed by all who loved him.
Bob, My sympathies. May the hurt in your heart find happiness as time passes, trusting that Johns memory remains alive, and that he will be “watching over you”.
Rob, our deepest sympathy goes out to you. We know the pain of losing someone so close. We hope that when you think of John, you will remember the good days and not the painful ones of these last few months. You are in our thoughts.
Bob, it’s so hard to loose someone so close to you. I pray that you focus on the best memories, they will help you through these hard days.
