Gene 66, Jan. 4, 2008 passed away in his Barnhart, MO home. Born in Bonne Terre, MO he joined the U.S. Navy in 1959 after graduating from Flat River High School. Ron’s distinguished careers included the U.S. Navy where he served his country in Vietnam and the Cuban Crisis working as a pipefitter and underwater demolition expert. After 16 years as an Officer with the St. Louis Police Dept., Ron joined Anheuser Busch as a security supervisor and retired 17 years later. For 19 years he shared his life and dreams with wife, Rita Joanne. He was the proud father of four children, Ronald (Sally), Chet, Nikki Carter (Mike) and Robert (Linda); grandfather to Ryan Marhsall (Molly), Kyle Marshall, Lauren Carter, Michael Carter and Alexis Carter; great-grandfather to McKenzie Marshall and Tucker Marshall; he has one brother, William C. Marshall and was preceded in death by his father, Bill, his mother Thelma and sister Judy. Ron’s passionate unwavering loyalty to what he believed touched family and friends from all walks of life. His sense of humor, caring interest in people and intense love of family will continue in our hearts.
