Alberta Belle Crain
Jesus said, “In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
Alberta Belle Crain was born on 15 March 1935 in Sikeston, Missouri to Chester and Mabel Dobbs. She passed into eternal life on 5 September 2013 at the age of 78 in St. Louis, Missouri. She is survived by a daughter, Cathy Lynn Crain of St. Louis and two sons, Alfred Lee (Rusty) Crain and his wife Linda of Bunker Hill, Illinois and Mark Daniel Crain of Virginia and beloved former daughter-in-law Brenda Crain of Michigan. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Leah Brianne Etter of Texas and her husband Air Force Sr Airman Henry who is serving in Afghanistan and four grandsons- Derek Matthew Crain and his wife Melinda of St. Louis; Army 1st Lt Kerry Lee Crain of Rockford, Illinois; Mark Daniel Crain, Jr and Michael Crain both of Michigan and one sister-in-law, Nina Ruth Dobbs of St. Peters, Missouri and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Belle was married on 25 May 1952 to R. Leroy Crain in St. Louis. Lee passed away on 13 January 1968 at the age of 40 in Sikeston. Also preceding her in death are her Father and Mother, one sister, Joy and five brothers- Jack, Jerry, Roy, Dale and Howard.
Sincere thanks is given to St. Louis SSM Depaul Hospital doctors, nurses and staff at 3rd floor ICU and 5th floor North for their excellent care, treatment, and understanding in Belle’s last days. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. She will be buried next to her husband in Sikeston Memorial Park. Please pray that Belle rests in peace.
