Ann Kathryn Gallagher
March 8, 1939 – July 14, 2024
It is with much sorrow that on July 14, 2024, Ann passed away after a four-year long battle with Lymphoma cancer. Her strength was never more visible than when she took on multiple research trials for the advancement of cancer treatments. In addition to this Ann has chosen to make the ultimate donation to the National Body Donor Program (NBDP) for additional studies.
Ann was born in St. Louis, MO in 1939 to James and Rosemarie Gallagher, and was one of Five children. She attended DeAndreis High school graduating in 1957 and was Senior Prom Queen.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents James and Rosemarie, sisters Jeanie Lohmann and Marcy Hosty, daughter Michelle Pierick and son-in-law Charles Floto. And survived by her sister Karen Wisner, brother David Gallagher, Daughters Lauren Nesselrode, Rita Floto, Dana LaFlam, and Kara Porter. Grandchildren Kim (Nathan) Podorski, Kelly Pierick, Greg Nesselrode, Danny (Jen) Jones-Wilson, Angela Reed, Rachel (Kurt) Vogel, Alexandra Jessmon, Skylar Johnson, and Megan (Jacob) Phinney. Great-Grandchildren Morgan, Jeremy, Baily, Raidan, River, Isabella, Kurt, and Kali. Great-Great-Grandchild Wyatt.
Ann was a gracious volunteer to many organizations for many years including but not limited to… The USO at Lambert International Airport where she served countless hours caring for our country’s Military servicemen and women. She was presented with a Presidential award and flag and many other awards. The Women’s Crisis Center where she worked the overnight hotline helping women and children of domestic violence to safety. The Crisis Nursery where she held, loved on and cared for babies who were born with addictions. Ann gave regularly to Barnes hospital Pheresis and the Red cross as she carried a rare blood type. The Wild Bird Sanctuary and many other organizations benefited from the gift of her time. Ann along with her sisters and other family members were active in the Caroline Close Stuart Chapter DAR. Ann loved to read, to cook, theater and art, and spending time with her grandchildren.
