Anthony Craig Crawford, Jr.

Anthony Craig Crawford, Jr
August 9, 1982 – September 3, 2020

Anthony Craig Crawford, Jr. of Saint Louis, MO passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at the age of 38. In his last three breaths, he found peace and relief from complications brought on by diabetes.

Cherished son of Anthony Crawford, Sr. and Bobbie Murphy-Crawford; beloved father to Dylan Crawford and Isaiah Booker and godfather to Aryanna Clay. Older brother to Andrew Crawford (Ria). Little brother to Marquette Garner; Markeisha Holt, Yolanda Crawford, Lakieda Murphy Wilson (Lindell); and Shontia Howard (Thomas). Nephew to Katherine Gilcrease, Janice Williams, and Gladys Spencer. He leaves behind a host of uncles, cousins, nieces, and friends.

Anthony never had an enemy. If you didn’t love him, you at least liked him. He was a best friend to Mary, Pete, and Taiddy but to call him a “friend” was not enough. He was like a brother. Quick to smile and joke, he possessed a spirit that could put you at ease. He didn’t believe in holding a grudge for too long. He thought life was too short so while you simmered over the argument or deed from days, weeks, or months ago, Anthony would greet you with a “What’s up?” and a head nod at the next meeting. Whatever the issue had been, he didn’t have energy to waste on it. He loved to cook and often dreamed up recipes he wanted to try out. He and Mama would talk about opening a little spot where they could serve their homemade meals. Something different everyday because why not. He also loved listening to rap music and was often seen wearing headphones singing lyrics to one of his favorite songs. He loved his sons, Dylan and Isaiah, and wished he could have done so much more for them and with them. Anthony Crawford was loved. He will be remembered through the memories of his friends and family and through the lives of his children and goddaughter. 2Pac was one of his favorite artists and “Keep your head up’ was one of the songs he listened to most. So turn the volume up, bop ya’ head, the ‘Ant Man” is listening and singing along.

Last but not least, Anthony wished to donate his organs to science. In the end, he was still trying to gift the world.

We know you rest in peace and in power, dear brother, son, father, friend.

The family wishes to thank the nursing staff, doctors, physical rehabilitation teams and social workers at St. Mary’s Hospital and Mercy Hospital South for all they did to help Anthony deal with the diabetic complications he experienced over the past six years.

Cremation services will be handled by St. Louis Cremation Chouteau location. A celebration of life service will be live streamed. Details to be announced on Facebook

I miss you, Anthony. I wish you could be a part of what we’re doing now. I think you would have loved it. Isaiah is graduating high school and Dylan is doing so well.
