Barbara Jean Guelbert
Barbara Jean Guelbert (nee) Babb passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 at the age of 84. She was born in Mayfield, Kentucky on November 10th, 1939. Barbara was predeceased by her husband John S Guelbert and her sons Michael and Stephen Guelbert. Barbara is survived by her sons John J Guelbert (Tracy J Guelbert), Jason A Guelbert (Mae A Oberste) and remembered by her grandchildren Jordan, Amber, Lindsay, and Kaitlyn. Barbara worked as a licensed cosmetologist from her home in Ellisville, MO. She will be forever cherished for giving everything to those in need and bringing light and laughter into our lives.
I will always remember how much my mother-in-law Barbara loved animals. She was particularly fond of our cat Peanut (in the picture with her). I would have to get after her because she was spoiling him rotten by giving him Cheetos and anything else he wanted. Then at night, when I way lying in bed, I overheard her talking to Peanut as she was getting ready for bed. She had a glass of milk, and Peanut was being a total booger by trying to get into her milk. She kept saying to him, “No, kitty, no.” It still makes me chuckle to replay that scene in my memories.
She was one of the sweetest people I’ve ever known, and so caring. I’ll always remember her laugh.
