Barbara Richter Skrosky
Barbara Richter Skrosky of O’Fallon, MO, 81, passed peacefully at home in the company of loved ones. Dear Aunt, great Aunt and great, great aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Barbara, a career woman, met the love of her life, Len Skrosky when they both worked at Brown Shoe Co in St Louis, Mo. After marrying, Barbara and Len moved East for his career with Sbarro. They lived very active, social lives in Long Island, The Poconos and Harveys Lake.
Always ready for a lively conversation, dinner party or fine dining, Barbara enjoyed many friends she had gathered over the years and always remained in close contact.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her dear sister, Jeanne Richter Miller and brother Alfred Richter, jr,
She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
A private memorial will be held for the immediate family.
Barbara was a dear friend and office mate for a number of years at the Brown Shoe Company in St. Louis, until she and Len moved East and I moved West to Albuquerque, NM. But we always kept in touch and we were prayer partners during Len’s illness and death and my husband, Mike’s death. It was a blessing when I visited St. Louis this summer and five of us close friends to be able to visit Barbara in O’Fallon, MO just prior to her death. She was much loved and will be missed.
Barbara and I go back to the late 1960’s when we both worked in Clayton. I’ve been trying to contact her for many Months.
We met after work every night we could and together had many friends. I wish I could have seen her one more time other than birthdays and holidays.
