Beth Grace Haley Risner Blome
Beth Grace Haley Risner Blome went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 24, 2019. Beth joins her parents, Jack and Celestine (Gambaro) Haley. Beth is survived by her husband, Ned Blome, her three beloved children with Eugene Risner: Adam (Monica) Risner, Joel Risner, Karis (Brian) Kruep, and her brother, David Risner.
Beth loved being a mother to Ned’s three children too: Heather (Anderson) Heintz, William (Christa) Blome, Tyler (Lauren) Blome, and grandmother to Adam and Monica’s sons, Jack and Ben, Heather and Anderson’s daughter, Willow Grace, and Will and Christa’s son, Liam.
Beth was born in Detroit on December 26, 1958. She loved to learn. Beth graduated from Inter-City Christian High School and went on to Clarks Summit University. She received her master’s degree in Psychology at Lindenwood University. Beth was fluent in Italian and Spanish, and spoke three other languages, a gift she used in her career as a training manager, and traveling the world with Ned.
Beth taught Adult Sunday School at Dardenne Presbyterian Church. She and Ned loved to travel and went to Germany when Will was deployed with the U.S. Army. They also visited Beth’s family in Italy; her favorite city is Florence. Ned and Beth traveled with the Creve Coeur Camera Club to Monument Valley Indian Reservation in the American Southwest, Costa Rica, Iceland, and they went on a “Making Memories “Caribbean Cruise for Christmas, 2018.
Beth had many hobbies including making new friends, rescuing greyhounds who were no longer able to race, knitting (which she taught herself to do by watching YouTube), traveling to new places, playing with her grandchildren, reading, and cooking with Ned.
She will be greatly missed but will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, including Margie Morrissey, who donated her kidney when Beth needed a transplant. A special “thank you” to Evelyn’s House for the care given to Beth and the courtesy shown to her visitors.
A memorial service will be held at Dardenne Presbyterian Church on April 3, 2019 at 11 a.m., followed by a time to gather, reflect on Beth’s amazing life, and share a quick meal at 12 noon. Please join us at 7400 S Outer Rd 364 in Dardenne Prairie, MO 63368, to celebrate this wonderful life.
Contributions can be sent to the Dardenne Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund, in Memory of Beth Blome.
