Brian James Boxdorfer

Boxdorfer, Brian James, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2019, at the age of 54. Brian was born in St. Louis, on August 12,1964, to the late Robert L. Boxdorfer, Sr. and the late Rita M. Boxdorfer (nee Morgan). He is survived by his siblings Karen Almstedt, (Bill), Robert Boxdorfer, Jr., (Mindy), Brenda Weber, and Craig Boxdorfer. As well as, an uncle, Elmer Morgan, many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nephews, great nieces, and friends.

Brian grew up on “the Southside” of St. Louis where he attended St. Mary’s High School and graduated in 1982. Other than a short stay in Oakville, he lived on the southside all his life. He was proud to be “Southside.” Brian never married and had no children of his own, but he loved having the kids around. He played with them and they always entertained him. Everybody loved Uncle B.

Brian loved to play cards, go to parties at Katie’s, go camping, floating & bicycling with his buddies, and hang out at Lake Sherwood with family and friends. He was an avid Blues fan and we are so grateful he was able to see them win the Stanley Cup. LGB!! He traveled out West several times and loved his trips to Arizona, Montana, Wyoming and North Dakota. Brian will be greatly missed by all. He truly was a kind, wonderful soul.

There is a memorial service in Brian’s honor, at St. Louis Cremation’s Chapel on Friday, July 26. It will be held at the downtown location, at 2135 Chouteau Ave. The Chapel is reserved from 2 PM until 5 PM. The prayer service will begin at 3:30. Everyone is welcome to join us to grieve, reminisce, share stories, and memories of Brian, any time after 2 PM. Also, anyone who wishes to share their stories and memories of Brian, following the Deacon’s prayer service, is welcome to do so as well.

We hope all of Brian’s family and friends can come to celebrate a life taken away too soon. Thanks for being a loving family and good friends to Brian for all of his 54 years. He will be missed and was loved by everyone who knew him well! ‘LGB’ (Let’s Go Blues), as Brian would close his texts to us. Peace and love to you all.
