Carol Jean Morris
Carol Jean Morris (nèe Johnson), a native of East St Louis, IL and resident of Swansea, IL, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2016 at the age of 66 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Her Christian faith was a great source of comfort and strength to her during her illness, having been raised in Bray Temple CME church and as a member of New Life Community Church at the time of her passing. Carol enjoyed a long and exciting career as a flight attendant for Ozark, TWA, and American Airlines where she formed many lifelong friendships. Carol’s greatest joy, however, was her family. She was a devoted daughter to her parents, Inez and Perkins Johnson, who preceded her in death; a proud mother to her daughter Amanda (Lawrence) Shields; a doting grandmother to her granddaughters Mackenzie and Madison Shields; a loving sister to her siblings: Michael (Elizabeth) Johnson Sr., Barbara (Calvin) Dye, and Janet (Reginald) Hall; and an adoring aunt to her nieces and nephews: Candace Hubbard, Michael (Alicia) Johnson Jr., Regina Hall, Paul Johnson, and Keri Hall. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a loyal and supportive influence.
At Carol’s request, she will be cremated with no formal memorial services to be held at this time; her family asks for her friends and loved ones to honor Carol by remembering the wonderful times that they shared with her throughout her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol’s memory to Stand Up To Cancer.
May sincere and heartfelt condolences to the and many friends. My eyes weep and my heart aches She now has her Wings She will be truly missed and forever remembered Sleep in Paradise my Friend
Praying for my cousins. You have my deepest sympathy. Carol will always be in our ? and memories.

CAROL Was a special friend for many years, I was given rhe Gift of being near before her journey to her Heavenly home.
Family know she’s with the Lord and in perfect Peace.
Mike, Jimmy, Gwen, Courtney, Chris and Candace extend our deepest sympathy to you and your entire family. Carol was a beautiful person inside and out. She fought a good fight. She was loved by many, but God loved her more, and therefore called her home, where she will suffer no more. We pray that God will provide you with all that you need during this most difficult time. Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you.
Sending caring thoughts your way during this difficult time, and hoping that with each day, pleasant memories grow stronger.
Barbara and Candace my heart was broken when I learned of Carol’s passing. I could count on her to say something that would inspire me every time our paths crossed on Sunday at church. She was a consistent encourager! I pray that your grief is replaced with the joy in knowing you will unite with her again.
