March 10th, 1944 – March 8th, 2023

Carolyn Klueppel, 78, of Fenton, MO, passed away March 8, 2023.

She was born to the late George “Dewey” and Eileen Hinton, March 10, 1944, in Cape Girardeau, MO. Carolyn graduated from Cape Central High School in 1961.  While in high school, she worked at Sunny Hill Dairy, which is where she met Frank.

She married the late Frank Klueppel, Jr, in 1963, and they opened Plaza Gifts and Office Supplies in 1965 and were in business 26 years.  She also worked at K’s Merchandise.  Carolyn enjoyed genealogy, spending time with family and collecting Hallmark ornaments and Precious Moments figurines.

Carolyn is survived by her three children: Jim Klueppel of Pacific, Missouri, Christy (John) Wagoner of Fenton, Missouri, and Cathy (Mike) Best, of Mesa, Arizona. She is also survived by her brothers, Gerald, Henry, Michael and Terry Hinton, as well as 2 sisters, Nancy Irvine and Marsha Hinton.  Her brothers Benny, Nelson and Ralph Hinton preceded her in death.

Carolyn has 5 grandchildren, Abby and Lydia Dohogne, Taylor and Payton Wagoner and James Klueppel.  

A celebration of life is planned for April 2, 2023, at the Osage Centre in Cape Girardeau from 2-4 pm.
