Mrs. Catherine Caye Louise (Goudy) Sarber, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, born in Salt Lake City, UT, passed away at age 89 on March 14, 2018 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Caye traveled throughout her life, collecting friends along the way. She met and married G. Scott Sarber in Phoenix, AZ. She raised three children in the suburbs of St. Louis, MO and then headed for Boston where she worked in Boston College’s Law School. After retiring she moved to New Orleans, living in the Quarter for awhile. After several years, she relocated to Alexandria, VA and finally ended up in St. Louis.

Caye held a Masters in Christian Education from San Francisco Seminary and a bachelors in English from Westminster College in Salt Lake City. She loved to write and, after her retirement compiled histories of her early years. Even as her eyesight diminished, she continued to read books avidly.

Caye was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth (Libby) Hillenbrand; brother, M. Hank Goudy; and grandchild, Rebecca Smorodin Sarber. She is survived by her son, David Scott Sarber; daughter, Anne Louise Dudley; grandchildren, Karl Hillenbrand, Chris Hillenbrand, Jessica Smorodin Sarber, Sarah Smorodin Sarber, and Michael Smorodin Sarber; and great-grandchildren, James Hillenbrand and Emily Hillenbrand.
