Christopher Manuel Garcia
This world lost a wild one on Halloween.
Christopher Manuel Garcia, 65, of Hazelwood, passed away surrounded by
family on October 31, 2020. He was brought into this world on a full moon and
left the same way.
Born December 10, 1954 in Florissant, MO, he grew up in the area and
graduated Hazelwood Central High in 1973. Chris owned paper routes when he
was younger, including a Globe-Democrat route, and worked in printing for
decades. He loved a good printing press and would talk your ear off about them.
He loved cars and working on them, VW Beetles in particular and owned a
number of them throughout his life. He loved the James Bond franchise and
would’ve gotten a kick out of knowing he’d check out on the same day as Sean
Connery. He loved being outdoors and listening to the wind and feeling the sun.
On a good year, he would be biking the Katy Trail under the falling leaves right
about now. Chris loved Rock & Roll and had a fantastic taste in music. He was a
true-blue K-She kid who loved going to concerts around town. He also thoroughly
enjoyed NPR’s Car Talk on his drives. He had a thousand incredible stories to
tell and they will live on with those who love him.
Christopher was preceded in death by his father Manuel Garcia. He is survived
by his mother Edith Garcia, his son Nick Garcia, and three siblings Carol Jean
Tadros, Leslie Breckenkamp, and Joe Garcia.
Flowers can be sent to Bellefontaine Cemetery, where the family will gather
around the stone to share remembrances of this great and brilliant man.
Chris told me one time his life song is”My Favorite Things” Johnny Coltrane..
When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When i’m feeling sad
I simply remember
My favorite things
And then i don’t feel so bad.
Thanks for listening my dear friend.
Until we meet again…
