Clifford Jacobs

Clifford Gene Jacobs passed away on October 23, 2016, at the age of 72. He was at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Marsha of 47 years and their six children: Alicia Finder (Eddie), Dawn Jacobs-Rodgers (Al), Wendy Jacobs, Sara Radake (Chris), George Jacobs, and Natalie Jacobs (Mark). He was a loving grandfather to their nine grandchildren: Emalie, Eddie, Alex, Cassie, Natasha, Dominic, Josephine, Hayden, and Olivia. He was excited to have two great-granddaughters, Chloe and Evelyn.

Clifford was a veteran, a machinist, a loving husband, a caring father, and a fighter until the very end. He never had much but gave everything he could. He was a father to more than his own children and never let anyone go hungry. He housed those in need and fed those without food. He was a humble man who enjoyed telling his stories to his family, drinking a good whiskey, and enjoying a delicious meal prepared by his wife. All things that he passed on to his children and grandchildren.

Those who were lucky enough to know Clifford enjoyed his sardonic humor, endless movie trivia, and intriguing story-telling capabilities.

His high school yearbook quote said, “Sometimes he sits and thinks, but mostly he just sits.” A humorous quote that could not be more wrong. He was a wise man that knew how to take care of us all and keep us in check at the same time. We are all blessed to be given even just an iota of his knowledge.

A Celebration of Clifford’s life will be held on November 13, 2016, from 2-6 pm at The Gathering Place, 550 Vance Road, Valley Park, MO 63088. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The St. Patrick Center in St. Louis, MO. Details can be found at stpatrickcenter.org. grandpa
