David Lynn Bagot
David Lynn Bagot — our friend, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and cousin — passed away December 2, 2021, peacefully in his home in St. Peters, Mo. Dave was born January, 25, 1952, in St. Louis, Mo., to George and Mary “Maxine” Bagot (Moore), with a brother, George Bagot, who all preceded him in death.
While attending Jennings High School, Dave began dating Deborah Battocletti, whom he married in 1973. They had three children — David Bagot and Matt Hillman of Kansas City, Mo.; Daniel and Desiree Bagot (Blanc) of St. Charles, Mo.; and Paul and Jena Bagot (Jaenke) of St. Peters, Mo. — who all survive him, as well as grandchildren Hayden, Brielle, Nolan, Ella, and Davi.
Dave’s career spanned a variety of endeavors, including work at A.O. Smith, McDonnell Douglas, Hussmann, his wife’s family’s restaurant, and as a service manager, as well as time building his own HVAC company.
Through it all, Dave became the consummate “fixer,” who seemed never at a loss on how to take care of practically any chore — and taking the time to patiently teach others what he knew. However, his most valued job was undoubtedly that of husband and father, where he was tireless in providing for his family. To those who knew him, Dave will be remembered as quick with a joke, eager to laugh, delighted to tell stories (or spin his own), and no matter where he went, it seemed Dave never met a stranger.
His time with us was cut short by a three-year battle with cancer, but Dave’s faith was resolute to the very end, and he never let his illness keep him from sharing a full life with family, friends, and anyone who cared to ask about cars or music. And while he may have departed this world, his quiet determination and easy generosity will serve as a model for others for many years to come.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 9th, at Zion Lutheran Church in St. Charles, Mo., at 10:00 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at the “Dave Bagot Memorial Fund” page.
I’m so sorry he will be very much missed
