Deborah Irlene Payne was born December 18, 1955 in Saint Louis, MO to Lueviner and Eddie James

Payne.

As a child of God, she confessed her life to Christ at the age of 15 and took part in the church choir singing until age 19. Her loved ones that she cherished dearly preceded her in death: Mother, Lueviner Payne; Father, Eddie James Payne; Husband, Eddie Henton; Daughter, Cherita Payne; Brother, Edmund Jerome Payne;Grandmothers, Jessie Bell Holmes and Irene Moore; Grandfathers, Fred Williams and William Holmes; Uncle, Willie Lloyd; Aunts, Dorothy Lee Holmes and Christine Moore; Grandson, Sean Jones; Niece,Oddyssey Banks and Nephew, Emmit Deal.

Her loved ones that she leaves to cherish her memory: Daughters, Gina Scott, Kina Scott and Tenitia Scott; Brothers, Dondi (Traci) Payne and Eddie James Payne; Sisters, Diana Draine and Rachel Brunt; Grandchildren; Lorenzo, Josiah, Titus, Malachi, Jacinta, Braiden, Gabrielle, Kadeem and Legaci; Great Grandchildren, Kailani, Lorenzo and Khloee; Nieces and Nephews, Catherine, Sherita, Faleeda, Jessie, Isaiah, Finiece, Ed’Chae, Edward Jr, Antheria, Antonio, Tiffany,Angelo, Trevon and Torraye along with a Host of others that if she knew you, showed no difference in love as we were all the same, FAMILY!

Dear friends that she loved like sisters, she leaves to cherish her memory: Renee Chapman, Beactrice White, Deborah Waites, Paula Tyler and Laura Jenkins whom preceded her in death.

Here’s what some of you did not know about Deborah: Her name came from the Bible and was not pronounced how it was spelled and boy! she would correct you on that! (lol) She was an amazing seamstress and made all her own clothes. She would get down on a sewing machine and even made outfits for her girls. She attend Beaumont High School and was a majorette along with marching in the Mayday parades. She loved throwing house parties while listening to her favorite group and singers;The Defonics, Betty Wright and Billy Paul. She was definitely a soul sister from the Motown days! She worked in the nursing field for over 40 years. She loved family time and gathering from catching drive in movies
with her girls and spending time in park on family picnics. With all the activities she provided amazing food that she cooked and could throw down on the grill!

A Special Thank You and Love to Ed’Chae Caffey for taking in her aunt and loving her no matter what! Always had her back until the end! Your are truly appericated and loved for your kindness and generousity!, Gina

I will always cherish the time spent with your twins brothers from the bus rides to the zoo, along with the sweet tooth, James!
