Denise Louise Coyne
Denise Louise Coyne (nee Hobbs), a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away surrounded by her children on January 13, 2024. She was born on October 8, 1956, to Daryl and Margaret Louise Hobbs. Denise leaves behind a loving family and countless friends who were privileged to know her. She is survived by her children, Katy Drabelle (nee Coyne), Patrick Coyne and Erin Mellow (nee Coyne); grandchildren Michael, Will, Jack, Kellen, Dylan, Mason, Lottie and Wesley; her stepmother Vicki Hobbs (nee Byrd); and siblings, Mary, Terry and Julie. She was preceded in death by her parents Daryl and Louise and her loving husband, Kevin.
Denise’s strength was evident in every aspect of her life. During her husband’s battle with Pancreatic Cancer, Denise exhibited unparalleled strength and support, standing by his side throughout his illness.
Her commitment to family extended to her grandchildren, as she eagerly embraced opportunities to assist and nurture them. She was a loving and supporting presence at every sporting event, cheering, taking photos and creating annual photobooks celebrating their accomplishments. She was a constant, loving presence in their lives.
Denise looked for every opportunity to share her talents with those around her. She tirelessly crafted memories in the form of blankets and quilts for friends and family. From Christmas quilts as wedding presents to flannel baby blankets welcoming new arrivals, Denise’s creations were infused with love and care.
For the past decade, Denise courageously fought cancer, facing both breast cancer and multiple myeloma, but despite her own battle, her focus remained on those around her.
Denise raised three remarkably strong children who will carry on her strength and the love that she and Kevin both shared as parents and grandparents.
Denise’s love, strength, and enduring spirit will continue to guide all who loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this spring, and friends and family will be invited to attend.
We will miss you, Denise. RIP with Kevin.
