Diane Kay Ponche (Buresh)

Diane Kay Ponche (Buresh) died much too young at age sixty five October 27th after two months of struggling with covid complications. She was with her family and knew she was well loved.

Preceded in death by her parents, Doris and James Buresh, and sister Janet. Survived by siblings Dave, Gary, and Janine.

Devoted wife to Tom of 44 years and mother of 5, Kalen Ciszewski (Chris), Shannon (Liza) Logan (Alex), Nick and Alex (Leine). Grandmother to Clark, George, and Alba.

Diane was a loyal friend to so many. Scooping up lifelong friendships from her college years as a Delta Zeta at Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, working over 35 years as a speech therapist for the Francis Howell School District, through her church, and book clubs over the years. Every community Diane touched she found lasting meaningful relationships.

Incredibly creative and competitive. She was constantly reading and in her retired years was determined to live a more sustainable eco-friendly life. Her diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis and Rheumatoid Arthritis didn’t slow Diane down. She and her husband Tom spent most of 2021 traveling around the country, visiting state and national parks, children in the Pacific Northwest and New York City, and family in Iowa, Florida, and Texas.

The world was lucky to have Diane.

We met Diane when our sons played college soccer and were roommates at Drury University. She was always such a sweet, beautiful, kind, and fun woman. We always enjoyed seeing her and Tom at all the college events. She will be missed by all. Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathy to the whole family. May you find peace in all the beautiful memories. A donation was made to the Mayo Clinic Covid Research Fund in honor of Diane.
