Dorothy Robins
We honor the legacy, love, and life of Dorothy Robins of St. Louis, Missouri. Born August 24, 1943, the oldest of 10 children to the union of the late Andrew Robins and Queenell Robins (nee Jones). She was educated in the St. Louis Public school system under Hadley Tech, now Vashon High School.
Dorothy was an excellent cook and event planner in her own right. She worked for years at local meat-packing companies in the St. Louis area, and knew her way around the kitchen. She was a cook’s cook. She made many meals for her children, her large family, birthday parties, graduation celebrations, her famous Friday Night Fish-Fry, and was well-known and loved for being dubbed, “Grill-master” at every family reunion cookout.
Dorothy loved her family. She loved her children and grandchildren. She raised her children to be productive in society, to love each other, and to treat everyone fairly. Her home was a happy place for everyone. All were welcomed. You would be met with one of her hilarious stories, hear some great music playing on the stereo, and would not be able to leave without enjoying a great meal. Dorothy enjoyed family, and even the family dog was a member of the family. She was well-known for her fur-babies “G.G.”, and fur-grand-baby “Dusty”.
Dorothy leaves to mourn her Sons Mr. Robert Ford (Bob), and Mr. James Robins (Pumpkin), Daughter-In-Love, Mrs. Marnette Robins (Nett). Grandchildren Ms. Shannon Robins, Ms. DeAndrea Love, Mr. James Michael Robins (PJ), and Miss Sydney Marie Robins (Miss Syd). Dorothy’s parents, Andrew & Queenell Robins, eldest child, Dorthea Robins, and siblings Andrew, Jr., Tommy, and Phyllis all preceded her in death. Surviving siblings Ivory, Sr., Queen, Stella, Mae, Rose, and Adam. Also a host of life-long and dear friends, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and family friends from Arlington Ave.

I was blessed to have Dorothy as my big sister. Dorothy was like a second mother for us. She taught me a lot about life as I grew up, what I wanted to be, didnt want to be, what I should aspire to be and could be. I shared many first with her first time in a club, first drink at the Chatter Bar, first cigarette, first boyfriend sitting on her couch, first dog, first driving lesson, first lesson on how to survive in the streets. We always had a special bond and I always respected her and did whatever I could to make her happy, and proud. I hate this pandemic and wish we could all be together to celebrate you, share the many funny stories and awesome memories. Peace and everlasting Love to You Dorothy. Your Living Sisterr Rose????
Sending Love and Prayers to Dorothy’s Sons and The Entire Robins Family. I can remember Dorothy and I as Young Girls at The North Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. May God Continue To Bless and Keep Each of You In His Loving Care.

I was devastated at hearing the news that Dorothy had passed. My heart goes out to her Children Bob and Ounkin, her grandchildren and extended family
Dorothy would allow me to camp out at her house after work so I could go to my New Membership classes every Tuesday and Thursday. She live close to my job and my church which saved me time and distance. I would stop every 2 piece Tuesday and get Chicken for me,her and Bob. Thursday would be whatever we decided on. She always had a big cold pickle and soda waiting for me. When I got there she would yell, “The door is open. ” Then she would say, “Hey Sis what’s shakin.” Dorothy was my sisterinlaw and friend and I will miss her. She labored long and hard now she can rest in peace with Jesus. ❤????
