Dwight Spears Sr. 66 years of age, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 surround with love from his family.

Dwight was born on August 27, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri to William Alonzo and Robena Ming Spears. He was the youngest of 10 Children, who consisted of Marilyn Whitfield (James), William Spears, Violet Hawkins, Emma Shell (C.J.), Robena Jones (Edward – BKA Tommy), Donald Spears, Lorraine Brown (Harold), Michael Spears, Loretta Booth (James – BKA Jingles), and Dwight Spears.

Dwight married Jewel Woods Spears in 1964. To this union three children were born. Rosalyn Spears Roberts, Arnita Spears Byrd, and Dwight Spears Jr. Seven grandchildren,

David Roberts Sr, De’Anna Roberts, De’Arra Hollins, De’Che Daniels, Dantiel Daniel, Devin Byrd and Adrieanna Byrd. Six Great Grandchildren, Dejah , David Jr. Daezion, Anaiah, De’Lyla and Jour’Nie.

Dwight later married Dorothy Melinda Baker on June 24,1993. To this union is one adopted son James Spears and four step-children, Ronald Sr., Jerome Jr, Sammuel, Tiffany; nine grandchildren, Alisa (Muffin), Ronald Jr., Ronda, Ronnelle (RayRay), DaRon, Lindell, De’Marrion, Jayla and Cordell. He also gained a mother-in-law/friend Dorothy Rusan.

Dwight leaves to cherish his loving memory not only his immediate family but a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

His favorite acknowledgement of everyone he met was Jackass, Lisa, Luke, or Knucklehead.

Daddy Dwight was a caring and loving man. In his younger day he lived a rough life where he thought others should be taught how to survive the cruel world. Even though he was tough and strangely rough with others, he truly cared and loved his family and friends. As time went by and Dwight became older and wiser, he mellowed out and became even more loving and caring. Dwight’s final days were spent surrounded by love of his family. Even though Dwight’s life seemed to have been cut short to many of us, but those who were touched by him understood the quality of Dwight’s existence far exceeded the quantity of time in which one lives. Dwight brought so much joy and love to all.

Daddy Dwight loved going on the boat to gamble, loved his 70’s and 80’s R&B songs such as Smokey Robinson, Temptations, Four Tops, and others. He also loved to spend time spoiling his grandkids. The more time he got to spend with them the happier he was. He truly enjoyed life and wants all to know he is no longer sick or suffering. He went to God in a calm and peaceful way. He is only asleep.
