I called her “The Saint of St. Louis”. Ede was a wonderful lady, great wife, friend, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mom-in-law, and all. We will all miss her but know she is now at peace with Bud and all those she loved who died before her.
She was small in stature but her heart was huge.
God’s abundant Love and immeasurable Peace to you, Aunt Ede, as the caboose of your generation Of Hartrich’s !!!!!
Safe travels , and please give each and everyone of those we love and miss
a special hug and kiss~~~????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Condolences to all the Hartrichs.
Brings back a lot of memories hanging around the Westmoreland house.
Love to you all.
I would like to send my heart felt condolences to the Hartrich family. My husband Jack Higbee and Bud grew up together and were life long best friends. I have so many wonderful memories with Ede, Bud, and the children. Both of our husbands served in World War II (Bud in the Air Force and Jack in the Navy). Ede and I had so many great times together. I have to laugh at one memory that stands out, when the twins were toddlers and found a basket of tomatoes. They thought they were red balls and threw them all over the house! The Kentucky Derby parties at Ede’s house were so festive and fun! I have so many lovely memories of Ede. All of you are in my prayers.God bless you all.
As visitors to the home on Westmoreland many times, we have many fond memories of the gracious hospitality we received after each road trip from Chicago. We felt at home the minute we walked in the door. She and Bud were the consummate host and hostess and we looked forward to each visit. Now she is back with her soul mate. God bless them both
To this day, I can still hear Aunt Edie’s voice….of enthusiasm, energy and interest in the person with whom she was talking. I was always in complete awe of her ability to manage so much (and at least to me) make it seem like it was no big deal. I remember her as fun, yet firm, and forever young at heart.
I am sorry not to be able to be in St. Louis with all of you to commemorate and celebrate her life, but will certainly be present in heart and spirit! Her greatest legacy is all of you!
She would always give us a welcoming hug whenever we came to her house and she would always talk to us, l loved coming to her house when we would visit in the summer. I loved ❤️ being her great grandson.
Your son, John, is a very GOOD man.
I thank YOU for bring him into the world, Mrs. Hartrich.
He[ still] loves you VERY MUCH
Aunt Ede,
You will be sorely missed by so many (especially by the many to whom you are personally responsible for giving life!)
Please watch over all the members of your family and your friends, who still have two feet planted on this sweet earth. Urge us here to make this world a better, more just and thriving place for all people and all creation. And intercede for us, that we may one day join you and all the other “family saints” at the eternal banquet table. Please share with them our fondest greetings.
