I had Mrs. Hancock in 7th grade Geography at Ritenour Jr. in 1978. She was a great teacher and proof that dynamite came in small packages! She cared and you didn’t dare sleep in her class. I will never forget her.

If it wasn’t for Facebook I would have never known Elva. I never did get to know her in person, I will sadly miss her.

Sending prayers to the family. I had the privilege of having her for Geography. I was new to that part of the district and she made the transition easier. I loved learning in her class.

I had Mrs. Hancock at Ritenour Junior High for Geography. I will always remember having to memorize state capitals and all of the European, Asian, African, and South America countries on the map as well as their capitals. I have answered many a Jeopardy clue because of that learning.

My husband and I, before Elva moved to Labadie, we would enjoy taking short walks with her and Dinky. At times sitting in front of our house chatting with her. We never ran out of anything to talk about! A lovely person and will be missed. Two of our children also had her for a teacher at Ritenour. May she rest in peace.
