We will miss you Mr. Hicks. I’ve known you since I was a bad little boy, lol. I’ve always looked up to you as a man and father.
My Father did, as well. You will always be apart of our memories and an extended part of the Young family.
Get your rest, enjoy your peace and please watch over us.
You are truly missed. The world’s greatest grandfather. I love you always!
My Uncle Earnest. Always called me “Doc”. Never without his cigar and that raspy laugh of his. I spent a good deal of time with Uncle Earnest and Aunt Gloria growing up. For many years my mom and I lived around the corner from the family, back then we had Debbie and Derrick also. My comment is long but so were our lives together. I am always conflicted about death. We believe in an afterlife although we know little if anything about it. What we believe and what we know…sometimes we believe so that we will know, I believe that my Uncle lived his life on this Earth with his family and his friends and now we know he is no longer here yet I can recall him anytime in my memory, I know I loved this man and I know he had a special life only once lived but alive in my heart. God have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy Amen.
