Evelyn M. Yowk
Evenly was born August 3, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Jimmie Lee and Emma Ruth Standard both standing ready to welcome her home. Evelyn was educated in the St. Louis Public School system graduation from Soldan High School in 1972. She continued her education at Iowa Wesleyan University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree.
In 1985, she began her thirty year career with the United States Postal Service where she held positions ranging from Distribution Clerk to Lead Window Clerk; yet the job Evelyn took the most pride in was being a loving Mother. Evelyn was a diligent worker, devoted mother, a comforting friend as well as a philanthropist. She loved to plant her garden every spring, to travel with her close friends and she always enjoyed a good book. Evelyn was beautiful, fun and loved to laugh. She enjoyed every second of life and brought joy to those she loved. She was adored and respected by her family, friends, neighbors and those feelings were mutually shared.
On December 14, 2015 Evelyn transitioned from the physical world to the next higher state of consciousness. She was proceeded in death by Brother Jimmie Lee Standard, Jr., Sisters: Patricia Ann and Janet Standard; Parents Jimmie Lee and Emma Ruth Standard. She leaves behind three children Michael Yowk, Kimberly Moore and P. Danielle Yowk. Brothers: James Standard, Jeffery Standard (Anita) and Timothy Standard and Sister Louise Reeves; three grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
