Forest Edwin Lane Sr.
Sgt. Forest Edwin Lane Sr. went to be with his Lord on September 15, 2021, at the age of 78. Born in Baltimore. Forest is preceded in death by both his parents, Davis Howard Lane and Aedrina Irene Bush; his brother, Harold Lane, and his deceased wife, Isabel Jone Harper and Charlotte Lane.
Forest is survived by his wife, Donna Jean (Smith) Lane; his sons, Forest Edwin Lane Jr. and David Lane; his step Children; Doreen Harper Bartly, Emil Eugene Smith, and Samuel J.D. Smith. Forest was a great husband, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He served in the Navy from November 1961 until 1967 and then reenlisted in the Army and served from April 1971 until April 1985. Forest was a medic corpman in the United States Navy and a Sr. Clinical Specialist in the United States Army. He also served as a service officer for Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) for 28 years. But his services didn’t stop there, Forest also worked at the VA Hospital as a benefits counselor helping veterans and their families get the benefits they deserve.
Forest had the heart to serve and aid his military brothers and sisters. If Forest wasn’t at Tower Grove Baptist Church where he was loved by many that knew him, you could find him at the VFW post-2866 in Saint Charles, MO. Forest Edwin Lane Sr. was truly loved and will be missed by all who know him.
