Gary E. Hutchison
Gary E. Hutchison passed away in his daughter Alyssa’s home in Hillsboro, MO surrounded
by his loving family and significant other Phyllis, on September 11, 2024. He was 74 years 2
months and 25 days old. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert and Ida
Hutchison; his mother Barbara Jean Vrouvas; and his late wife Sue (Maddox) Hutchison.
He is survived by his significant other, Phyllis Long of Mountain Grove, MO and her son and
daughter in law, Nathan and Sarah Long of Vanzant, MO; his son and daughter in law, Mark
and Brenda Hutchison of Hillsboro, MO; his son Daron Hutchison of Hillsboro, MO; his son
and daughter in law, Michael and Elizabeth Hutchison of Fenton, MO; his daughter and son
in law, Alyssa and Alex Wedepohl of Hillsboro, MO; his brother Greg Vrourvas of Union,
MO; numerous grand and great-grandchildren, and many other friends and family.
Gary retired from Lou Fusz Dodge where he worked in the parts department for 33 years.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed traveling and especially
taking cruises with Phyllis. His favorite drink was Bud Light and our condolences go out to
Bud Light!
There will be a graveside service on September 21, 2024 at Peaceful Ridge Cemetery at 3
p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at the Meramec (Arnold) Elks at 1515 Miller Road,
Imperial, MO,
There will be a memorial service in Mountain Grove, MO at a later date.
My dearest condolences to Phyllis and all Gary’s family and friends. Rest in peace. You will be missed but your memories will live on in everyone’s heart.

Many memories of Gary as a coworker at Lou Fusz. Never seen Gary get upset, always had a calming demure about him. Truly will be missed.

I’ll always remember the Friday or Saturday nights at my mom and dad’s or at the trailer park when we were kids. Gary and Sue were the best! Many many years ago!

Gary was one of the best. He wil truly be missed. My family and his go way back over 50 years. Sue was my mom’s best friend. Spent many of times together. Gary had the best demeanor. He would call from time to time, always discussing our previous or future cruises. Mark, Daron, Mike, and Alyssa, we are sending our deepest condolences and all our love.
