Such a wonderful Christian lady. She loved her Lord and her family. She was a great hostess. Her home was always beautiful, and so welcoming. She will be missed, but oh so happy to be with her Lord. Bud and Judy.

Dear Geneva what a wonderful friend and Christian lady. We enjoyed her fellowship in our Couples Bible Study for 20 years. She was always full of wonderful ideas for planning events and our girls “get away” weekends … the memories linger on of our good times. We miss her so very much but look forward to our reunion in Heaven.

Once when Sandy was in the hospital she said what would you like to eat for dinner tomorrow evening. I will fix you what ever you would like. I replied you don’t need to that
. She replied but I want to and will. She then ask if I liked beef roast. I said yes but you need not do that. She replied , what time would you like to eat. I said whenever is convenient for for you. Again she said how about 6? I said ok. She said I will fix you a roast, potatoes, carrots and Lima bean s. I started to respond and she said I will have there for you at 6. She and Jim arrived at 6 with dinner an d I think that there was a dessert but can not remember what it was. The entire meal was delicious and something that I could not have done.

I must add Jim and I worked together at various church programs, served together on the Deacon board and even played golf together many times . Once when in Arizona while Sandy and I were there for the winter and they were visiting one of their sons.

Great people, she will be missed

Geneva was one of the first people I met once we started attending Cherry Hills. Later, we met again shopping. She always teased me saying she did not like to shop with me because we both liked the same things. Needless to say we would often squabble (jokingly) over which one got the purchase. I loved those times. I could never “out give” this beautiful Sister, I will miss you.

Jim and family, I am so sorry to learn of Geneva’s passing. She was always gracious and caring and throughout my years working with Jim at the Illinois Community College Board I always looked forward to being with her. Please know all of you are in Bruce’s and my thoughts.

Emmett and I always enjoyed volunteering at UIS with Jim and Geneva. She always had a smile and was nice to each and every volunteer. I know her family will miss her. Our condolences.

Geneva was a friend of my mother, Eugenia Dunkel at Cherry Hills. Geneva always had a smile on her face as she was a follower of God. Sorry of her death. Remember the good years you had with her.

Jim and family, we are so sorry to hear of Geneva’s passing. We remember you as good neighbors here on Golf Road. Geneva watched over our two children a few times, helping us out. She was always warm and kind to all of us. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Jim and Family, please accept our deepest sympathy. We are saddened to hear of Geneva’s passing. We have many fond memories from our days as neighbors on Golf Rd. She was a generous Christian woman who lived her faith everyday and wasn’t afraid to show it. I have so many great recipes in my file from those days when she would share something from her kitchen. We used to walk many mornings and she would share the latest news about her kids or grandkids. She was so proud of her beautiful family. We know she is rejoicing with the angels and her dear Lord. May God bless you all with wonderful memories.

Sorry to hear of Geneva’s passing, Jim. She was a blessing to all who knew her and I’m sure you’ve known that for a lot longer than I have. May her memory be a blessing to all who crossed her path.
