Genevieve Helene Farrow
Genevieve Helene Farrow (nee Williams)
With the heaviest of hearts and the fullest of memories, we remember the life of Genevieve Helene Farrow, who peacefully made her transition on November 1, 2018 at the age of 82.
A St. Louis native, Genevieve was born on November 17, 1935 to parents John and Genevieve Williams (nee King). She was one of seven siblings: (d.)Sandra, (d.)Virginia and Annie, along with three brothers (d.)Lonnie, (d.) Jornel and (d.) Nathaniel.
She married Irvin B. Farrow, Sr. on August 5, 1955, and to that union, three children were born: Veronica Farrow Roy, (d.) Irvin Farrow, Jr. (d. Mary) and Victor Farrow (Georgette). Their small family eventually swelled with the births of eleven grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren!
She had a “ball” competing in bowling league tournaments in her younger years. Professionally, she enjoyed a fulfilling career as a nurse until retirement. And later in life, she shared many years of her time on committees such as the Vashon High School, Class of ‘53-‘54 Reunion and Celebrity Seniors. Wise, quick-witted and full of spunk until the very end, she will be remembered by many for hosting countless social gatherings and family dinners, for her love of culture, literature and the arts, and for watching reruns of her favorite TV shows.
Her home was rarely empty and her door was always open.
Genevieve was given the gift of a beautiful life and she shared so much of that gift with others. With a job well done, she can rest peacefully alongside her husband Irvin, Sr., who left this life in June 2013 and her son Irvin Jr., whom we lost in October 2005. May their spirits continue to bring their loved ones comfort and guidance.
You will always be charished. REST IN PEACE.
