Geraldine L. Villaire
Geraldine (Gerry) L. Villaire ( VanHollebeke) passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024, at the age of 88. Gerry was predeceased by her loving husband of over 51 years Robert J. Villaire, in 2010.
Beloved mother of Annette (Jeff) Slane, Linda (Terry) Burns, Bob (Lorna) Villaire, Lorrie (Greg) Nelson, Don (Linda) Villaire, and Andrew Villaire. Loving grandmother of Karen Burns, J.R. Slane, Justin (Laura Brooks) Slane, Ryan (Stacey) Nelson, Samantha Villaire, Staci (Ky) Moody, Ben Villaire, Steven Burns, Jennifer Slane, Michelle Burns, Max Villaire and Stephanie Villaire and great-grandmother of Arlo Hayes, Elena Hayes, Jackson Slane, Calvin Nelson, Miles Moody, Grayson Slane, Max Moody, Henrik Nelson, Jack Nelson and Adrian Villaire. Loving sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Gerry and Bob moved from their hometown of Detroit, MI to Croydon Lane in Manchester, MO in 1971. There they enjoyed numerous get-togethers with their family and neighbors. In addition to being the loving mother of six children, Gerry worked as a registered nurse for many years and was active in the Catholic church. Prior to her death, she was an active member of St. Clare of Assisi parish and served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. She and her late husband Bob, were co-founders of the Felice Cuores dances sponsored by various West County Knights of Columbus councils for adults with special needs.
Services: Visitation at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, Ellisville, MO on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Down’s Syndrome Association of St. Louis or the charity of your choice.
