Hannah Catherine Hildebrand
Hannah Catherine Hildebrand left us too soon on October 16, 2024.
She will be forever missed by her parents, Karen and Michael Hildebrand. She is a beloved daughter. sister, aunt, cousin, niece and granddaughter.
Hannah was an excellent nurse. She loved ice skating; she loved the Blues (a long-suffering fan who was awarded with the Cup in 2019); she loved to fish (much to the dismay of the many that she caught); she loved her friends and was loved by them as well; she enjoyed so many things and indeed left us way too soon.
Our hearts are broken…
On Saturday, October 26th, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, we will be holding a Celebration of Life at the Old House in Hog Hollow (14319 Olive Blvd, Chesterfield, MO 63017).
In lieu of flowers, please donate to an organization that meant a lot to Hannah, No One Dies Alone Foundation (www. nosdaf.com/donate/)
I’m so sad to hear about the loss of Hannah. She always knew how to cheer me up when we were in grade school, no matter what I was going through. I still vividly remember her nudging me during a tornado drill and we both started singing supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, well I did until I didn’t know the words (or spelling) anymore. Even to this day I am so impressed she could spell it, especially since we were in elementary school. Hannah, I hope you’re still singing it to your hearts delight. I’m going to miss you.
Mike and Karen I’m so sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to both of you. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do. Hannah’s passing reminds me of a quote that I hope will give me comfort – “When you lose someone you love, you gain an angel you know.” Our thoughts are with you.
I have known Hannah for about 14 years. She was awe inspiring. We both had similar life experiences, we both became nurses, she even worked with my late father as a nurse. To say my heart dropped to my feet with this news is an understatement. Her presence was infectious and will never be forgotten.
My deepest condolences,
Kerri Torno
We love you Hannah!
Hannah made a powerful impact in her short time with us. She will always be remembered as an exceptional nurse, and an even better friend to those who were lucky enough to know her in this lifetime. Beyond her full-time work, Hannah volunteered her time and expertise to care for people experiencing homelessness. I was fortunate to work alongside her, seeing her fully in her element. Hannah remained focused and calm amidst chaos, engaging those she served with unwavering grace and compassion. Hannah was so smart- sometimes smarter than she realized, sometimes too smart for her own good.
The same qualities that made Hannah such an amazing nurse carried over to her friendships. Hannah was truly a once-in-a-lifetime friend. She had the biggest, most generous heart. Her sense of humor was rare. Hannah was so effortlessly funny. Her friendship is something I’ll always cherish. I’ll carry her memory with me forever.
Hannah was a beautiful soul. A breath of fresh air, with a fantastic contagious smile. She was a human full of infectious joy for everyone around her. She always talked of her love for her family! I trained Hannah as an RN at SLUH when she first became a nurse. She showed compassion that I’ve hardly ever seen, felt empathy that I’ve only ever seen in myself… she was a kindred spirit that I hated losing touch with when she moved on to new opportunities in her career. Though we stayed in touch a bit through FB and she always had the most kind things to say about our Nursing together, I always imagined that we would eventually end up at the same hospital, sharing experiences and memories. I credit Hannah for me meeting my Wife, which has brought me the most happiness I’ve ever imagined. Sitting there in the nurses station, talking about our extreme heartbreaks, she put the positive thoughts in me that showed me there was more to life than those heartbreaks, no matter how bad they felt at the time. 3 months later in 2021 I found the love of my life, now 5 months pregnant with our baby boy. I will ALWAYS attribute Hannah for giving me the family I always dreamed of. I saw her at the end of June, while she was a Hemodyalysis nurse at St Mary’s, my Mom was ending her stay at the Rehab center, discharged 30 minutes after seeing Hannah. I ran to see her… i’m so so so so regretful that I didn’t hug her harder, longer. My dear beautiful friend, I hope you have found your peace. We love you down here. ❤️
I worked very briefly (1 year perhaps)with Hannah and she was such a delightful and terrific person.
Every time I had to go where she was working as part of my job,she would always greet me with the warmest smile. Just seeing her could brighten even the toughest day.
I am so terribly sorry for your loss
And I’m sorry I didn’t know sooner, I just found out today from one of my coworkers when we were talking about nurses we interacted with, and my coworker filled me in that she had passed. Prayers for you all and I hope God can give you comfort m
I had only known Hannah briefly through our mutual workplace. I mostly remember her smile. She had a smile that makes you smile immediately. We shared many laughs together. I was blessed to have known her and am very sorry that she is no longer with us. My deepest condolences to your family and friends. You will be missed Hannah! Rest in peace ❤️🕊️
