Harish Vatwani
Harish Kumar Vatwani
(July 1966 – December 2016)
Harish Kumar Vatwani (50) of Creve Coeur, MO passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at St. Louis University Hospital. Harish, the eldest of two brothers, was born on July 24, 1966 in India to Shri Tirath Vatwani and Savitri Devi. Harish went to school in India and was an Electrical Engineer from a reputed University. Harish worked for a large IT consulting company and managed projects in Federal organizations for over a decade.
Harish was a very passionate person full of life. His passion for travel took him around the world, hiking in the Himalayan mountains, Stock trading and Home Improvement, particularly designing home theater systems. He took deep interest in spiritualism and practiced yoga and meditation. He was looked up as the “Go-to-person” by his friends for advice on life, family and fun. Harish’s nature of giving goes beyond and lives on by his gift of organs for others in need.
Harish is survived by his younger brother, wife Monica, and two kids’, elder daughter Sanya and younger son, Karan.
His cremation ceremony is on December 30th, 2016 from 2 – 4 pm CT at St. Louis Cremation Services, 2123 Chouteau Ave., St. Louis, MO, 63103. Those interested may want to donate to his children’s college fund (contact lokankara@gmail.com for details).
Harish worked as a contractor for the National Archives and Records Administration’s National Personnel Records Center for he last 15 years. He was involved in the development and maintenance of the Center’s first-ever automated production system. In that regard, he has had as much (or more) influence on the success of its operations as anyone else who has ever worked at the Center. He was also one of the kindest, most patient, and most capable men I have ever met. He will be missed greatly, but his contributions to the important work of the Center will be longstanding. They will benefit our operations for years to come.
Harish was my manager at work for 4 years and he was the best manager I have ever worked with. He taught us how to manage work life balance and guided me through meditation techniques. We used to share snacks, crack jokes at lunch time. He was a good friend to share personal things as well. We miss him as much as his family members. We all miss you Harish 🙁
My condolences to Harish’s friends, family, and co-workers. I had the pleasure to occasionally get assistance from him with questions or issues I had at work. He always had a smile on his face and was always willing to help me better understand why something was the way it was. Truly one of the nicest people I have ever met. Harish will be deeply missed.
I am deeply pained and words are of no help in expressing the sorrow I feel at this moment. Sincere condolences!
I had the fortune of meeting Haris and his beautiful family, just once through mutual friends. This one meeting left an ever lasting impression on me, about his helping attitude and love for life and his passion for doing things himself and also help friends from his own experiences. He will surely be missed by me and many more who came to know him. May his soul rest in peace, and may the almighty give his family the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
Harish better known as vattu to frnds was my classmate in college. We will miss one of the smiling and evergreen personality, who was always available for help and care.
Rest in peace mere yaar.
Om Shanti.
All of us here at the Records Center will miss you, old friend.
Life is a journey and we all reach our destination in the due course of time. It’s not important to know the length of the journey, but rather it’s the experience that counts. Harish left an unique legacy behind. A legacy that anything is possible with hard work, a legacy that simple is beautiful, a legacy that love is unselfish. He has directly and indirectly inspired us. We will miss him. May his soul Rest In Peace.
Harish,
You had a normal life, but lived with pleasure.
You were a normal person, but left a treasure.
You will be missed beyond any measure.
And you will be loved here, there, and forever.”
Harish was a great friend of my son, Satish but he was also like a son to me. I am greatly saddened by this loss and will miss him dearly. I ask God that his soul may rest in peace and that God give his family strength through this difficult time.
Monica, Sanya, Karan, I am so sorry to learn this sad news. Harish was always so happy when I saw him and that was a reflection of the joy you three brought to him.
I hear his zest for life repeated in each of Karan’s jokes and know that his passing leaves a space in your family that cannot be filled.
I hope that your many memories of happier times will bring you some comfort in the days and times to come.
I knew Harish from our college days. We became BFF early on in the college days. Harish was kind of a person who made friend where so ever he went. Today’s gathering from all over the world is the witness of his love. He always left positive impressions with a laugh on small basic moments. Never stressed for anything and believed in living the moment
In past few years got into meditation and reached at a higher level, most of us can’t think that way. And he felt the ultimate pleasure and meaning of life in those moments
Anu, Nikki, Karan, family, and friends: Harish’s philosophy was take it easy. His body is gone. The moments we all spend with Harish will remain with us all the time, and we will treasure it for life
These are the tough time for family, but God will give you the courage to come out stronger in loving memory and love. Another definition of courage: let things go when we can’t change them
May his soul Rest In Peace.
Harish uncle was always a source of inspiration. Every Time I met him, he always filled me with joy and happiness. It saddens me to learn this news. My prayers are with his family and friends. I hope they find strength in these tough times.
May his soul rest in peace.
We think we know we can control our destiny, or our goals. We are simply fooling ourselves. Nothing is in our control, what has to happen will happen. All we can do is make an effort, and be grateful for the results.
These are not my words. These are the words of our dear friend, Harish Vatwani. He said this to me recently, matter-of-factly, but leaving a deep impression on me.
I first met Harish 33 years ago, in Engineering College. I remember him always giving a hearty laugh even at the worst joke, making us all feel good about ourselves. Come to think of it, he had disguised his beautiful mind in goofiness.
Memories are flooding my mind. All the good times we had in our get-togethers; Meeting family- Anu, Nikki and Karan, often, during my frequent visits to St. Louis, two years ago.
I have been wondering for past a few days, if we could hear him again, what would he be saying? Probably, a philosophical quote, or “It is OK, man. Chalta hai …”. But not before a hearty laugh.
Harish, if you could hear us, this is for you- “See what an extraordinary life you have led, touching so many souls along the way. I am very lucky that destiny brought us together as friends”.
We all live in search of what will make us happy, what will fulfill our hearts and souls. Through every story I have heard about Harish uncle, it is obvious that he found this in his love of yoga, in his friends, and in his family. He lived by his own rules, he was true to himself, and he was passionate in his beliefs. While Harish uncle’s passing is a loss to us all, we are lucky to have gained from the example of his life. To live with self-belief and conviction like Harish uncle did is something I wish for all those he leaves behind. Rest In Peace.
Harish was a great friend and a mentor. He is the most satisfied and joyful person I know. I will miss Harish. May his soul rest in peace.
I was deeply saddened to learn of Harish’s recent death. I had the good fortune to work with Harish at the National Archives for several years. He was the consummate IT professional and the most joyful, giving man I have ever met. Harish is gone much too soon.
I worked with Harish for many years and always enjoyed working with him, appreciated his work ethic, and most of all enjoyed his presence and warm personality. He was always excited about the joy his daughter and wife brought to his life. My condolences to them, and the rest of his family and friends.
Sincere condolences
In college days I remember Harish was a good friend of most of the hostel inmates. When I was in US he called me and suggested me to visit Ballard locks in Seattle(of civil engineering importance) and I visited there. With Physical departure the soul remains in memories. I offered water to the Sun for his peaceful stay in a different world with shining souls without physical bodies.
Aum Shanti Aum Shanti Aum Shanti
I know Harish more than a year and with in no time I felt he is very good manager. He is very reasonable person.Miss you harish. Rest In Peace.
My hearts is filled with sorrow upon hearing the news. Harish was a very kind man, a co-worker and a friend.
My most sincere condolences.
Anyone who worked with Harish can tell you what a great man he was. I can honestly say that Harish was one of the best boss I ever had in the recent years – and everyone who worked for him feels the same way.
I will never forget his kindness. May God give him eternal rest and the family the strength to bear the great pain.
I am shocked and saddened to hear of Harish’s passing. I worked with Harish on and off for many years. Though I did not know him well on a personal level I always found him pleasant and easy to work with, even when things got stressful. He inspired confidence and trust through his work and just being the person he was. I enjoyed working with him and he will be missed. My deepest condolences to his wife and children.
Hello, it’s Jody here!
I work as an academic writer and have created this content with the intent of changing your life for the better. I started honing my writing abilities in high school. I learned that my fellow students needed writing help—and they were willing to pay for it. The money was enough to help pay my tuition for my first semester of college.
Ever since school, I have continued to work as a professional writer. I was hired by a writing company based in the United Kingdom. Since then, the dissertations that I have created have been sold around Europe and the United States.
In my line of work, I have become accustomed to hearing, “Jody, can you help me meet my writing assignment deadline?” I know that I can save their time.
