James Lee Rogers Jr.
James Lee Rogers, Jr. was born on December 14, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of James Lee Rogers, Sr. and Mary Payne. He was the third of four children. RoseMary Rogers-Banks, Joyce Rogers and Rickey Rogers.
He married and had two sons James Lee Rogers, III and Tony Rogers. He was a supervisor for St. Louis City Lambert Airport, where he retired after many years of service. He enjoyed listening to a variety of music, reading, watching old television shows, traveling and fishing when the opportunity presented itself. He had a big family and loved them all dearly in his own way.
James dedicated his life to Jehovah and was baptized on March 23, 1963. He was known for sitting in the front row at the Kingdom Hall. A lot of people don’t know, but that front seat was very important to him because he said, “he wanted to give Jehovah his upmost attention and the best way of doing that was sitting in the very front, so he wouldn’t be distracted.” In his later years he lived a very quiet life. He enjoyed examining the scriptures daily and exchanging thoughts with fellow witnesses. Although he was quiet at times, he was very vocal when he felt the need to defend his God. He loved Jehovah and faithfully served him for over 57 years until he took his last breath.
He is survived by his son Tony Rogers (Felicia), grandchildren Corey, Eric, Brooklyn and Ayden, his sister, RoseMary Rogers-Banks, nieces-Nina M. Banks-Finerson (Carl), Cynthia P. Banks-Davis (Darrhyl), Marqeutta D. Banks-Williams (Timothy), Penelope Rogers-Stepney (Dwayne) and Athena Rogers-Tanner, nephews- Madison W. Banks, III, Gerald Rogers, Ronald Rogers and a host of other family and friends.
